The network of interconnecting country lanes are a joy for walkers and cyclists and the verges approaching the park are carpeted in green and yellow as the daffodils spring into bloom. Village fairs, watercress meadows, country pubs and farm shops are all waiting to be discovered nearby. A popular and vibrant seaside holiday resort, Weymouth (just a few miles away) has beautiful sandy beaches, spectacular coastline and attractions the whole family can enjoy. The views from the seafront are stunning, stretching across the horizon towards Durdle Door and the Isle of Portland. The harbourside bars and restaurants offer a wide range of food and drink, including locally caught seafood and of course traditional fish and chips. Walk along the quay and you will find plenty to do, from the Brewers Quay Antiques Emporium to more traditional seaside activities such as Punch and Judy shows and sand sculpting.

Venturing east along the coast, you will find the Isle of Purbeck with iconic landmarks on the Jurassic Coast, such as Durdle Door, Lulworth Cove and Kimmeridge Bay. Venture around the headland and you will find the seaside town of Swanage, the sweeping sands of Studland Bay and the staggering rocky outcrops of Old Harry Rocks. Further inland you will find historic towns such as Corfe Castle, Wareham and Wool. The area is also home to some of the biggest and best family attractions in Dorset such as The Tank Museum and Monkey World.
